I believe in the power of storytelling.

Stories bring meaning to our lives, bring life to organizations, and transform customers into evangelists.  I’m passionate about creating stories about organizations and their most passionate people, working in the mediums of documentary filmmaking, photography, podcasting, and writing.

My mission is to create stories about great organizations & the people who love them – and to share those stories with the world.

My Story – present and relevant past:

Community Engagement Manager- Yoli

I created, produce, direct, film, and edit a monthly web series about entrepreneurial women around the nation, called The Women of Yoli. These pieces serve to strengthen and share the mission of the company and build community. I proposed, developed, and currently maintain a website that has become a worldwide, company wide portal for company culture: Yoli.Life  I created, produce and host the Yoli Life Podcast. I document all corporate events, locally, nationally and internationally, creating photo essays and video content that conveys our culture to our customers, members, and prospective members of our community.  I launched a motorcycle charity ride in the Midwest that is another expression of our company’s mission to transform lives physically, emotionally and financially.

Freelance Photographer - Paul Duane Photography

Passionate about imagery that conveys personality and a sense of story. Black and White is my medium of choice. Specialties: portraiture, boudoir, musicians.

Behavior Analysis - Utah State University

I studied Psychology with an emphasis in Behavior Analysis. I served my last year as a paid Teaching Assistant for Dr. Carl Cheney, a renowned expert in Behavior Analysis. Supervised animal behavior research labs, conducted and authored my own research with human subjects on random schedules of reinforcement & emergent superstitious behavior.  My University experience certainly set the stage for my understanding and interest in the human phenomenon of community.

Storytelling is at the heart of community.

Here are a few of my favorite moments as a story teller & Community Engagement Manager:

Cez Ayroso – “9/11 & Domestic Violence”

Cez Ayroso was at ground zero on 9/11. She shares how her experience of surviving the attack prepared her to survive Domestic Violence.

Behind the Scenes – Discover 2020

Yoli holds an annual conference for it’s members & customers around the world. Typically, this takes place as a massive convention center. In the summer of 2020, we were in the depths of the pandemic, yet, our community still needed an annual conference experience. We created a massive production studio in our warehouse, and live streamed the two day event. An important tradition in Yoli’s culture is the conference after-party, which you’ll see at the end of this short piece.

SHE SLC

Salt Lake City has a reputation for being homogenous, ultra conservative and a bit boring.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we produced a short documentary about the colorful, diverse women of Salt Lake City.

A Night to Shine

Every year on the Friday before Valentine’s Day, in over 30 countries around the world, A Night To Shine is created as a prom-style event for people with special needs. For many, this night out is the highlight of their year. Check out my photo essay of the 2020 event held by the community in Moline, Illinois.

A great black & white photograph invites you to color it in with your own story.

Yoli Riders
for Riders

Every year, professional cowboys are injured and have no way to pay their medical bills & recover back into competition – and family supporting condition.

I instigated the organization of a group charity ride in the Black Hills of South Dakota, including a charity dinner and auction, which raised significant money to benefit the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund.

2600 Miles
on the road

A cowboy, a motorcycling instructor, and Springsteen’s drummer walk into a bar…

When I’m not creating & documenting community and culture at work – I love creating adventures and documenting those. Check out my notes and photos from an epic 2600 mile motorcycle adventure.

Mormon Sex Therapist

Dr. Jennifer-Finlayson Fife is a sexuality & relationship coach, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Boston College, she’s an active Mormon,
AND – she’s fascinating to talk to.

Join me as Dr. Finlayson-Fife discusses high waisted “mom jeans”, God’s wife… the power of lipstick, and everything in between.
