[dropcap]I believe in the principles of freedom. [/dropcap] Boudoir photography is an expression of freedom and empowerment. It is my goal to create photographs that embody both the sacred and the sexy.
Your boudoir photoraphy session can take place in my studio or at a location of your choice, including your own home. Prior to your shoot, we’ll have a consultation and will discuss things like
- what your best features are
- what you feel your weak points are
- who the photographs are for, and what occasion
- how you hope to display the finished photographs
- what you wish to convey in the images
We’ll discuss these things and then plan hair, makeup, wardrobe, and shooting location choices in such a way that we accomplish the goals that are laid out during our consultation.
What To Expect:
On the day of the shoot, we’ll meet at the appointed location, or my studio. I’m never in a big rush during a boudoir shoot; my first interest is to make sure that you are comfortable. We’ll lay out the clothes you brought to wear, discuss ideas for them, and get to know each other for a few minutes over a drink of something refreshing. We’ll always start with the easiest thing to shoot – usually the thing that is the most conservative as a warm up set. From there we’ll move into the rest of what you’ve brought. Throughout the shoot I’ll show you examples of the images we are capturing just to make sure that we’re on the same page with capturing photographs that you love.
Can you Photoshop me to look skinny?
Yes… but would you really want that? One of my goals as a photographer is to create images that you can look at and think, “Wow, I look really good!”. If I have done a lot of digital manipulation on that photograph, you won’t ever be able to look at the photo and say that to yourself. You’ll know it’s a lie. Instead, I like to rely on posing, lighting, and wardrobe to bring out your best. I want to capture you looking your best, but in a very real way. If you’ve got a big zit that shows up the day before, or a cut, bruise, scar, or other blemish that you’d like to disappear, I can easily do that in Photoshop. But otherwise, I like to keep it real.
