wrestlers, winos, and wisdom

Is there a spiritual realm that we can tap into, and gain wisdom & direction that is beyond our own capacity?

Joe Rogan recently interviewed Maynard James Keenan on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.  Maynard recounts being awakened in the middle of the night by a strange dream and a strange sensation. Later on, the moment of his awakening turned out to collaborate with the exact moment of Bill Hick’s death.  Though they were friends, MJK did not know Bill was sick.  His dream revealed to him the cause of Hicks’s death (pancreatic cancer)  before it was ever actually told to him.   The discussion turned to psychic phenomena and the ability to obtain information from a spiritual realm. It should come as no surprise that in discussing this great man, the following wisdom came pouring from their mouths:

JR: Is there a dimension, a next door neighbor, that you can tap into?

MJK: “I do firmly believe that each one of us has to really listen to the intuitive side of ourselves, to follow your heart, to know what path you are supposed to choose because we all have a role to play. You have to find that happy medium between making yourself happy and making sure you are fulfilled, but also doing your part, doing your work.”

JR:  “Your intuition depends on your respect for your consciousness. It depends on your respect for your honesty about your own actions, about your own thoughts and ideas, and I find that when I’m the most at peace with my own actions, then I am much better in in tune with other people.  When I’m most honest with myself, is when I get the most intuitive reads off of people.”

“I left in love, in laughter, and in truth, and wherever truth, love and laughter abide, I am there in spirit.”
– Bill Hicks
Bill Hicks obviously understood some very deep things that can only be experienced, not spoken of.
I want to take a brief moment to pay homage to these three great men. They have each influenced me for good in ways that are difficult to express.  These are men of their word. They know who they are., and they live in accordance with this deep self knowledge. These are men of authenticity.  I’m grateful for every song, every podcast, every person that helped point me toward a path of higher light, love, and understanding.  Organized religion was a crutch that eventually became a damning influence on the growth of my soul. I’m grateful for every event that helped me transcend the artificial intuition of organized religion. I have an enhanced ability to discern truth. I can hear my own inner speech much clearer now. I feel a deeper sense of love and peace.  I feel a deeper sense of connection to myself and my source than I have ever felt in my life.  If I can emulate even a fraction of what these men have become, I will consider my life a grand success.  Joe Rogan, Maynard James Keenan, Bill Hicks: humanity is better off because you. I have nothing to express but grattitude in this moment.
